Microfinance institution - Benin.
A Benin-based MFI that recently obtained its regulatory license did not have a strategic plan for transformation and growth. The MFI was also seeking to raise funding to expand its operations and increase its lending capacities.
Result: Sarenga advised the client and prepared a 5-year strategic plan including suggested products and services based on a national and regional benchmark. The MFI will now be well position to raise capital.
Engineering & construction company - Senegal.
A Senegal-based engineering and construction company was seeking financing in the local financial market. After identifying a potential funding source at a local bank, the company did not have a business plan or a pitchbook.
Sarenga stepped in and worked with the company’s CFO and engineer to build a business plan and pitchbook.
Result: The company raised US$ 4m to develop a factory of premade materials to build schools and hospitals in Senegal.
Start-up/fonio maker - Benin.
A Benin-based fonio maker and start-up needed assistance to present a bankable and convincing pitchbook for its already identified seed investor.
Sarenga stepped in and rebuilt a pitchbook with a valuation for an equity investment. Sarenga also walked and held the hands of the founder through the due diligence process and the legal document signing for convertible debt, and a US$50k disbursement.
